Biography

(San Francisco) Revel Paul studied and performed with the Boston Ballet and then went on to graduate from Julliard. She formed and danced with New York Chamber Ballet before moving to the West Coast. In Los Angeles she was a ballet mistress for the Asian American Ballet in Chinatown, and was a founding member and choreographer for the Sierra Dance Ensemble. Paul moved to San Francisco in 1995 to open her own studio, Sunset Movement Arts. In San Francisco, she has performed with The Lively Foundation, Bayshore Lyric Opera and most recently in Sunset Souveniers, a collaboration with local composer Frank Levin, and Fuego y Seda, where she collaborated with choreographers of different styles such as Chinese dance, hip hop and Flamenco to present El Amor Brujo at the Presentation Theater in October 2004.
